ABOUT ME
Mayumi Yoshida is from Tokyo, Japan. Her father being a journalist, she had an international childhood living in Washington D.C., Brussels, and Tokyo.
In Tokyo, from 2005-2009 she starred in 25 theatre productions. She moved to Vancouver in 2010 to pursue her dream to be an actor in North America.
Past Theatre credits in Vancouver includes Marriage of Figaro for United players of Vancouver, Directed by Adam Henderson, Pull festival 2016 directed by Caitlin McCarthy, Caps Lock The Musical 2012 Pick of the Fringe
Musical by Adam Warren.
In 2015 she made her Theatre Directing debut in "This is A Play" by Daniel MacIvor which she starred in as well (Ode.Movements). She was selected as one of the directors for 2017 Pull festival and will be working on 2 out of the 6 plays.
Her known TV and Film credits are Evangeline (OpiatePictures), Cult(CW), Gourmet Detective-A Healthy Place to Die (Hallmark), Stop the Wedding (Hallmark), Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce(Bravo) and The Man in The High Castle (AmazonStudios) which got her the nomination for Best Emerging Actor at the UBCP AWARDS (2016).
At the 2016 Vancouver fringe festival she directed, acted and also made her playwright debut with "NeOn-ね音-".
She recently completed a short film called"Akashi-あかし-" which she wrote/directed/produced and acted in as well. This film was part of the Telus Storyhive Digital Short Competition and it won the BC Grand Prize.
